Kelly is a teacher who lives in Boston and due to a life-threatening condition he had to undergo his double-lung transplant.
At birth, he was seen to be was born with cystic fibrosis, which is a dangerous disease affecting the lungs and the digestive system.
The lungs are badly impaired due to the affliction and patients who suffer from this deadly disease find difficulty in breathing.

Kelly, a Boston school teacher was afflicted by Cystic fibrosis, a debilitating disease that robs the patients of lung power and keeps on worsening with time.
The main result of this dreaded disease is that gradually, the power of the patient’s lungs goes on diminishing with the result that he gets a suffocating feeling.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organisation set up for the purpose of fighting cystic fibrosis states that more
than 30,000 people in the United States of America alone suffer from Cystic Fibrosis.

Kelly had undergone surgery exactly six months ago to the very day when his life was under serious threat because of the maximum reduction of
the capacity of his lungs. He was not able to breathe sufficiently due to the ailment.

In spite of his ailment Kelly plans to run a 5-kilometer race just six months after transplant surgery. He had undergone the double-lung transplant so that his life could
be prolonged from this debilitating disease that causes your lungs to lose their power to breathe; this school teacher from Boston will have completed his mission by the time this report is submitted.

In this race meant for charity purposes, he will be running a distance of five kilometers.

Eamonn Kelly, who is teaching science at the St. Columbkille Partnership School in the city’s Brighton area, ran the race yesterday amid much fanfare and with a
large attendance of friends, supporters and community members said that his main aim was to raise awareness about the dreaded cystic fibrosis and to collect
funds to provide the much needed funds to help in providing scholarships and other financial assistance to the needy.

The thrust of his race will be on the theme of organ donation since that was why he is able to run today; he also wants to provide some assistance to his school
said the 32 year old who is studying for a post-graduate course in educational leadership.

It has been an uphill task but he gradually trained his body to the current state of fitness which has enhanced his lung capacity to about 90% because of the
donation by some donors whom he wanted to honor.
