In Latin America, every girl eagerly waits for her 15th birthday bash. It is something extra special. Her quinceanera is a celebration by her parents and loved ones to welcome her upcoming womanhood.

They try to make it as memorable as they can but this one takes the cake. Her wildest dreams could not have conjured up a guest list that currently exceeds a million and a quarter guests.

Talking about big, it might prove to an astounding occasion of happiness.

Whether such an insane birthday bash is manageable is anybody’s guess.

Rubi Ibarra Garcia, a resident of La Joya, a small Mexican town with a population of about 200. It lies near the city of San Luis Potosi.

Her parents prepared a video invitation which went so viral on facebook that about 1.3 million users accepted their invitation. Her father Crescencio estimated that they would be hosting close to 800 guests.

Crescencio even planned to have a horse race to make it more thrilling. The race carried a prize of 10,000 pesos (about $500) as part of the celebrations.

He never expected such a huge acceptance of his invitation.

The list of bands itself was quite long but he insisted that everyone is invited. Imagine the number of interviews that he had to face from newshounds.

He admitted later that this bash got out of hand when they invited everyone.

Now a celebrity of almost international fame, the cute, dark-haired beauty still wears braces. She too gave innumerable interviews to media men who literally queued up to speak to her.

Most noteworthy is the fact that an airline joined the chaos offering discount for flights for the birthday party. It has also prompted the making of a video game depicting Rubi distributing invitations.

The authorities mobilized the police to control the situation. Strangely enough, there was also severe criticism from the Center for Public Opinion at the Universidad Del Valle de Mexico.

Incidentally, Rubi simply loved her place in the sun and will cherish it forever. Every teenager must be dreaming of just such a response.

Finally, they cancelled the 26th December birthday bash.
