NDF directs NPA to oppose foreign terrorists. Stop hostilities with government forces in Mindanao. Let us fight the enemy without engaging each other.

All pigs are equal but some pigs are more equal; this line emerges from my childhood memories with reference to the communist combine called NDF. They announced their patriotism with a hands-off order to their cadres to refrain from fighting the government forces in Mindanao.

In addition, they declared a policy of confronting the foreign intruders who have taken the violence to a new high. In effect, they tried to assert their commitment to their Filipino homeland and oppose the plundering foreigners.
This step is likely to boost their image in the eyes of the Filipino public.

I say this because the ideology seems to be missing; the only aim is to collect as much money as possible.

Skeptics like me had given up after the communists showed their true colors in recent rounds of talks.

The National Democratic Front (NDF) advised its activists to stop fighting the government forces. They are instructed to focus their energies in neutralization of the terror groups like the Maute, the Abu Sayyaf Group and the Islamic State.

We communicated the suggestion to the Communist Party of the Philippines stated Fidel Agcaoili, Chief negotiator of the NDF.

Furthermore, Agacoili conveyed the resolve of the Communist front to take up cudgels against the marauding terrorists. The communists will not allow antinational groups to wreak havoc in the country.

He specifically named the following:
• Ansar Al Khilafah Philippines (AKP) group,
• Maute, and
• The Abu Sayyaf Group.

These terrorist groups had linkages to local reactionary forces with support from ISIS, CIA, and other foreign entities, he claimed.

Thus, this initiative of the communist leaders will work to benefit the government in two ways.
Firstly, the government forces will have to fight only one adversary. They can direct all their resources on a single front.

Secondly, with the NPA also joining forces to defeat the ultras, some understanding may develop between the two allies. Moreover, cooperation between NPA and Government forces might result in some good vibes among the two sides, they hoped.

Therefore, the NDF directed the NPA to divert their resources in driving out the terrorists from Marawi. This is a positive step in favor of the government forces who need help in chasing away the foreign Islamists.

Hence, the need of this hour of crisis is to jointly stop the AKP groups, the Abu Sayyaf bandits and the Maute.
Consequently, it is felt that refraining from clashing against the government forces is only half the task. Engaging the enemies of the nation is the second and final step to defeat the Maute groups.

Similarly, the communists exhorted the government forces to observe restraint and suspend the offensive against the reds.
Thus, we need to coordinate our efforts to rout the intruders without fighting each other, Agacoili said.
