The chaos and turmoil in the Philippines is not likely to end in a hurry. In another incident of an attack on the members of the judiciary, a Judge perished and his wife wounded.

Regional Trial Court Judge Godofredo Abul Jr. was from Butuan City. His slaying has invited widespread condemnation from all citizens.

This prompted the Supreme Court of the Philippines to denounce the slaying in the strongest terms. In addition, The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) also condemned the killing of Regional Trial Court Judge Godofredo Abul Jr.

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno joined the associate justices in voicing their serious outrage at the senseless killing.

Its national President, , Abdiel Dan Elijah Fajardo, demanded immediate action to apprehend the culprits.

The judiciary words tirelessly to protect the rights of citizens hence, we need to hold his murderers accountable, he said.
The High Court also followed suit and called for a full investigation of the case. The Judge and his wife, who used to stay in Butuan were killed on their doorstep on Saturday.
As the judge and his wife stepped out of their house, two motorcycle-borne assailants accosted them.
The gunmen opened fire at point blank range killing Judge Godofredo while his wife sustained injuries.
