George Michael, the legendary singer is no more; he sprang to fame with WHAM! He was 53 years old and was blessed with an illustrious career. The singer did not have any illness but expired on Christmas day at his home in Goring, England.

He was a much loved singer though his life was lined with a series of controversies who rocketed to stardom with WHAM! and went on to enjoy a long and celebrated solo career lined with controversies, has died, his publicist said Sunday. He was 53.

While concealing all details about his condition and the circumstances surrounding his death his released the news. Cindi Berger, his publicist informed all concerned about his passing away.

George Michael enjoyed phenomenal success as a teenager early in his career. The amazing hits that he delivered were instant smash hits. The young idol gave to the public such record-breaking charts as young Guns (Go for it), Freedom and Wake me up before you Go-Go.

His remarkable vocal range was his strong points and he developed into a very serious songwriter and singer who earned the best reviews from critics and fans alike.

He was the recipient of a number of awards that included American Music Awards and Grammys. His duets with other famous singers also brought him accolades and acclaim.

George Michael sang with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Pavarotti, Elton john and Ray Charles. He was a solo performer who sold more than 100 million albums across the globe.. But, his habits and weirdness got him into trouble frequently.

He admitted to homosexual inclinations and his popularity zoomed with this revelation. Most famously, an act of lewdness resulted in his arrest in Los Angeles. However, his indomitable spirit took advantage and he converted it to a hit song in self mockery.

The WHAM band was a huge hit which he set up with his school friend Andrew Ridgeley.

They then moved to the United States and the rest is history. He never offered any excuses for his conduct even after the Los Angeles incident. Nevertheless, the number outside drew some attention away from his sexual misdemeanors.

His easy manner and awesome good looks were his stepping stones along with his stage manners.

His admitted use of marijuana got him lot of brickbats and he lost his driver’s license too. He dented the wall of a shop under the influence of drugs
